I made one of those from a grolier science encyclopedia when I was a kid, was not impressed by performance.

Oh yes and the morse code keyer from the same book, not enough windings - burnt a couple of fingers on the red hot wire.

(Come to think of it I may have even done some hydrogen fuel production at age 7 - from the same books)
